QuoteReplyTopic: Need help straightening bangs Posted: August 13 2003 at 2:40pm
Ugh. I decided to get my bangs cut because I wanted to cover up a chicken pox scar on my forehead. Anyway, my hair is wavy and I want to make my bangs straight. Is there an easy way to do this? Should I try one of those flat irons on it? Can anyone recommend product(s) to use just on the part I want straight - the bangs. Thanks.

Using a flat iron on a daily basis or 3 to 4 times aweek can cause a lot of damage to the hair. Best to use a good ceramic flat iron with temperature control. In addition, you need to protect the hair from thermal heat - ID CARE Silk Lotion is an excellent product for this.
Are you familiar with TR (Japanese Hair straightening)? If not, you may want to consider it. This will transform your bangs into straight, frizz free hair with little to no work required. It is permanent and will need to be re-touched every 3 to 4 months depending on your natural wave pattern, and how quickly your hair grows.
Be careful! You need to find a stylist who specializes in the field of permanent hair straightening. You can learn more about TR and hair, by visiting my website http://www.verticalsinhair.com
