Actually, that breakage is probably more natural than you think. I do not know your hair type, but I am assuming it is very curly. I know that with African American hair, where most have very curly hair and relax it to be straight, the point where the straight hair meets the curly hair is the weakest point. It is called the line of demarcation, and since the natural (curly) hair is so much stronger than the processed hair, then it tends to snap off. Some of this will be inevetable, especially if you wait a long period of time between your touch-up straightening sessions. But any type of MOISTURE and STRENGTH (like protein, soy, egg treatments, etc...) will limit the problem.
