I“m a 16 year old guy that have been tring to get long hair for some time now. I recently cut of quite a bit so I have now a lenght between my cheek and shoulder. But my problem is these over stretched strands that lies upon the hair like little curls. I use a serum to keep them down but I wonder if these strands will recover and grow out? I have begun to take a very good care of my hair using my comb these days, and not pull in anyway that will cause breakage. please, someone that have been in my position?

Well, first of all, let me describe something to you, and if you see yourself there, then you`ll understand what`s happening with those little strands sticking up.
I have alot of very fine hair with a slight wave to it. If it were shoulder length, I`d have noticeable loose ringlets at the ends. Because of the natural wave my hair has, the baby hairs that grow in are all curly, but once they get long enough to blend in with the rest of my hair, they get pressed down and pulled straight. They don`t quite go away, and although I have been taking much better care of my hair in the last 6 months, I still have problems with frizz on my scalp.
Second, make sure you`re not brushing your hair when it`s wet, and if you do, use a wide toothed comb. Brushing wet is a fine way to stretch your hair beyond its endurance and cause it to break off. Same thing with fine tooth combs. Wide toothed combs act like your fingers, and although fingers are the best way to detangle wet hair, they`re not always practical.
Third, all your hair will grow. What is short and frizzing now can be long and smooth 6 months, a year, 2 years from now. Course, there`ll be others to replace those because hair goes through growth phases. But fret not. These hairs will become fewer and further between as your hair gets longer because you shed less the longer it gets.
