Jenny~ You said it girl!! That's exactly what's going on here.
Many companies and stylists are for sure reading these boards
but never posting. I have no problem them going out and
selling the same products, as Amm said......it will only drive the
price down in the end. Sounds good to me!!

I agree with you, SAS, it's called market research. There's nothing wrong with observing your market place for trends and then trying to offer that product/service. In the long run the consumer is the winner.
And just to stirr up the controversy more... remember MB has had shrink links out for over a decade and even has the patent, but even that hasn't stopped similar products from popping up.
Competition is good for us, it forces companies to constantly improve their products and keeps prices down.

Well, I typed out a response to this about an hour ago, but when I
tried to post, I got a message that I didn't have permission. And after
that, my account was unaccessible. Hmmm....
Anyway, all I was trying to point out with my original post was that IW
was selling shrinkies now, which is a good thing. I don't think anyone
was saying that IW shouldn't be selling them. God knows, everyone else
is. And Metalgirl has a good point: MB's predate Doc's anyway, and
let's face it, shrinkable tubing has been around forever.
I think all AMM was questioning was the use of the photo. The fact is,
lots of photos do get stolen and "repurposed" online. If that's not the
case with IW, that's great, but I don't see why Amber got so upset
about it, especially if IW isn't her company....
Can someone tell me how to get back into my account now?

Oh my god, can amber please just shut up.
The issue here is not "is Amm is secretly jealous of iWig". It's not
even "are you actually affiliated with iWig and are pretending not to
be". It is "is iWig using a stolen photo, and if so, why would a
supposedly-reputable company do that".
Now, it's entirely possible that what iWig said is true. I have a color
chart from Zury themselves, and I've noticed a lot of resellers using
their photos to sell Zury products, which is perfectly legal afaik. But
with internet photo-theft as prevalent as it is these days, it's not
unfair of Amm to suspect that iWig stole the photo from Doc, since the
photo has been on Doc's site for almost a year now. The real way of
figuring this out would be to email Doc and ask her if the shrinkie
photo is indeed hers, or from a manufacturer.

I personally get tired of seeing the same pictures from one web site to another. Wig pictures and color charts are one thing, there are so many who would even want to take pictures of each and every one, but a jar of shrinkies?? Come on, how hard can it be?
On the other hand, if Doc Locks didnt want their pictures or tutorials used they should watermark them.
Just my opinion (shrugs)

lol, i already said why it "upset" me, i found it unfair. call me the defender of little puppies, dates back to my childhood of proteting things, hence my line of work. anyhow, i dont own iwig nor do i work there, i actually work with living things that cant protect themselves. thats besides the point. i think amm is just downright nasty, and i felt a need to say really, read her posts. i could care less about a stupid shrinkie pic, why they would need to steal that is beyond me. if she wants to think anyone that would say something other than what she thinks is the owner or employee of that company is pretty paranoid.

Word.
What I wanna know is why Amber suddenly appears out of nowhere and
starts dissing one of our longstanding, respected members. Seems
awfully suspicious. And no, I'm not paranoid; you just seem like a
troll.
Meanwhile, my account is all messed up now--something that's never
happened, until I attempted to respond to you! Thanks, Amber. Grrr....

Amber, if there are lots of sites selling shrinkies in the UK, do tell because I certainly haven't come across any. Also Amm is a very nice person, you've only read one of her posts so how can you comment on what she's like, that seems very unfair to me. As for the link you posted from the person selling shrinkies on ebay, yes she too has pinched the doc's picture. If you go to the picture, right click and then go into properties you'll see for yourself that the picture has indeed been lifted off the doc's site. What we discuss or don't discuss on this board is really none of your business unless you have something constructive to say. We certainly don't tolerate or get into slanging matches, we have more going on in our life!

Yeah, it's probably time to lock this one up.
This is unfortunate: There's a lot of great information here, and many
helpful, knowledgable people. We welcome new members all the time, in
fact. If you took the time to re-read the thread, Amber, I think you'd
see that you got really uppidty and offended when it was unnecessary to
do so.
Again, it's unfortunate.

Wow I havent been around for a couple of days and what the heck is this all about?
Amber, all these people that you are being so vicious towards are long time members here, that have contributed a great deal to this board. So what, if you disagreed with something someone posted, we all disagree at times, but no need to be so vicious. We can disagree with each other without the mean and harsh comments. This is a public board but for a newcomber to post such ugly comments doesnt make you very welcome by the long timers. This is generally a very friendly, informative and helpful board until posts like these pop up, so thats why youve gotten the reponses from everyone that you have.
