pulling even pieces of hair out of the bu

   I'm guessing everyone has a diferent technique for this.  Not just
the separating by putting your foot in the middle or however you do
that but actually getting the pieces you pull out to be the same size
everytime.  For pretips I actually use one of Docs microneedles to
judge the right amount of hair. But i figure I'm moving to tie ins in
the near future and I'm going to want even more precision in the size
of bulk hair I pull off.  I didn't do the best job ever with my
braids....

So do all of you just eyeball it?  Do you pull out all your pieces ahead of time before attaching so you can even them up?

Maybe I just suck that I need a tool to measure with...
