Hi guys, just got back from a hairshow today.  The only extension thing there was Cinderella, and I'm not interested in that.

My opinion is changing about the curly wa wa:

The hair is already getting frizzy  and matted .  The hair is not soft and silky, it's course and dry.   I don't  sleep with these things on and I would be in big trouble if I did, I"m sure it'd matted up even more.  Even though it looks nice, I don't think I can wear this things more than 2 weeks, and I certainly would not install this body wave wa wa on a client for semi permanent wear.

I haven't washed the hair yet, I will today, so we will see if the curl stays in.  It came with this curl, I did not do anything with it.

Jenny, I don't think you could or should clip it into your pinch braids.  I think that would be too much stress on the hair and I don't think the weft would lay flat enough.

Mocha-

My natural hair color is a level 4-5 mousey brown, and I color it with Matrix color sync. I mix 1/2 4RB + 1/2 5RV.  I did crown highlights on myself with L'oreal HI Color highlights in Magenta.

I love clip in extensions, they work well for me.  I used 2 full packages, so I made 3 tracks 12" wide and 1 track 6" wide for the nape.  2 of  those 12" tracks I sewed 3 pieces together, 1 12" track had only 2 pieces sewn together, and I think the bottom 6" piece only had 2 pieces.  I used 2 full packages, so however I just divide it all between the 4 tracks, but usually only double the top most track,  because I don't want the top one too bulky.

That's too bad about the WaWa, Metalgirl.

Have you used any products on it, like shine sprays, etc.?

The ongoing question.  All theose colors you gave me are on the 1-10 coloring scale or the standard extension color scale?

It doesn't look that light in the pic...

It's too bad the curly wawa isn't spectacular.  Had you tried the straight previously?

I was getting all inspired...  Well hopefully the AD i'm ordering will be good.

I have ordered straight bulk Wa Wa and have that installed with extentubes on a client, and she says it's doing great so far, and it's been 2 or 3 weeks.

Mocha, the hair colors that I color my hair with are industry standard color, the 1-10 scale with 1 being black and 10 being lightest blond.  I think the pictures does look dark, but as you know, each color company's  hair color scale is slightly different.  Colorsync tends to go darker, but I'm sure it's also due to my hair's porosity.  In person, it does look like a dark brown with a burgandy glow.

I have used Biosilk on the hair and it doesn't do too much for it.  Trust me, I am bummed too.  I was feeling quite sexy with such a bouncy mane, but now I don't think it will last long.

I'm going to try some AD thermo, and I also have a few wefts of PH on order too.

I think that is my problem with the WaWa hair and PH for that matter, the curls just seem to make it yucky sooner...I love the lenght of the PH but do not like the fact that it will not hold a curl very long...especially a tight curl. I started curling it with my wave set u shaped rod and then steamed it instead of trying dry heat...it seems to keep the frizz down to a min.

Oh well...I am going to try the WaWa in wefts...at least it held a curl...I really do not want to go back to human hair, but I can't keep changing my hair every two weeks...

Octavia,

Have you tried using small- to medium-size velvet-covered hot rollers? I find that these work much better in creating a lasting curl, at least in the PH, than steam.

Ive decided I dont care for WaWa as much either. I got the straight texture and have issues with curling it, and it just gets MUCH tanglier and rattier than the PH, plus doesnt respond as well to shine sprays and the like. I also think that some difference in the texture of the two types of hair makes them not work well together, because in the areas where they are installed together, I tend to get BAD rats nests and kinked ends. Almost lke they grab onto each other or soemthing.

I just got my bodywave WaWa and I do find it to be different than the straight. It's a little rougher feeling but my fingers comb through it with no problems at all. It's not getting caught up in the ends at all.

It's going to be interesting to see how this holds up compared to the straight as I've been able to have success with that for almost 2 months. I will say that that's about all the use I can get out of a batch. And even then, that's pushing it. I was outside all weekend and really discovered how haggard the ends look out in the light of day. But at $7.99 a pack, it's still pretty darn good if you can incorporate it into other textures. I'd never be able to wear this exclusively, though.

I'd also be curious to hear how the WaWa and the PH respond to the Dome Care spray and the Beyond the Zone Flasher Spray (basically the generic of the Bed Head Headrush spray). I'm finding these two products to be the most helpful, at least when the hair is wavy/curly. The Biosilk is good, but since the hair doesn't really absorb it, I think those sprays are more suitable for synth. :)

hey jenny, i have the dome care spray, and it works really good. makes both the ph and the wawa feel better, though the ph seems to respond alot better to everything. i tried the tigi headrysh at the store the other day and found i liked that alot too.

I have a mix of like 90% Wa Wa and some real hair some of the cheapo sallys stuff....so far.....the Wa Wa does seem a bit dry so to speak but the Dome spray I have works pretty well on it..tried a little bit of flasher on some other Wa Wa that i havent put in and it seems a bit more greaser but I also used a lot of Downy on it as well....The only prob so far is slippage with the shrinkied it may just be me though...Ive washed it twice both times with dome shampoo once with the dome conditioner and the second with a little water downed Feria conditioner...Did the spary the mix of downy an water aftre both but I needed to use the dome spray when I use the dome conditioner..probably didnt leave it on long enough...

BUT...lol....i still havent done my whole head yet time issues.. have done enough to get by with some straightening to get rid of my little mullet and the order of the da... everday... is usually finish hair..but by the time my husband comes home he is tired and I feel bad...soooo I have Wa Wa tips standing by and of course I get bored so I decide to pre-wash it do a little experimenting to see what works best with it.....used Dome shampoo and conditioner ended up leavimg the conditioner in for like 30 mins....I get side tracked pretty easily specially with to much caffine...rinsed it and then dipped it into a bowl of warm water/downy mix let it dry a little then sprayed it with the spray bottle of downy water mix..less downy in it..and the hair is actually silkier ect...then the stuff i have in.....SO as soon as we get the time hopefully by friday we will finish and replace any if needed...

I also have some Wa Wa in PLumb that was just a little to dark so when I tryed to put a little more red in it the way Otmac said she did hers I had braided it just to fit better in the bowl ...pourded the almost boiling water in and the hair is that braid curly now even using the hairdryer thingy on it with water/Dome spray/water downey mix curl still there....so if you like the way that curl looks....

The biggest issue I have is piecyness.....its gotten better but I still have to use this hair dryer/curler dealy on it more then I would like....

OHHH.....yes I have school so I'm running on PURE caffine right now.... When I actually finish my hair I do intend to post pics...I showed hubby that pic boogiemama took holding the dime....and gave him a little advice about how to do the sectioning with the comb and when I looked at the back of my head with another mirror my jaw literally dropped at how well he did....

Yes I do love my Downy

I bought a steamer today from Wally World, and steamed my WA Wa straight.  I also sprayed some fabric softener on it.  Then I set it on red velcro rollers and resteamed it.  It is now much softer, and has curl again, but I think the red velcros are a looser curl than the original curl.

The good thing about clip in is that I have a floor length metal wig stand and pin the wefts to a wig block and just steam or curl away, off of my head.  It's so much easier that way.

I feel that this curly WA WA acts more like monofiber, in that is is not as silky as some of the other thermofiber I have and it seems to friz much more easy.

Oh well, I'm still having fun with it.  I am going to order more PH wefts in several colors, so I can color coordinate my hair with my clothes!
