I wear my hair loose at sleep,  it is getting quite long and I'm just thinking how many people ponytail or braid before bedtime and does it really help?

I just wore my hair loose until it got to be waist-length. Then I started to wake up with it wrapped around my neck and shoulders, which made it hard for me to get free without damaging it.

Now I toss it over the head of the bed and let it hang down. I toss and turn a lot, but it stays there.

i would probably braid my hair while i sleep if it wouldn't end up all crimped in the morning. i use a satin pillow case and don't have much of a problem with tangles or choking.

I leave mine down at night because my hair is too layered to braid properly and I hate the awful wave that comes with leaving it in a ponytail or bun for that long.  I suppose it could cause damage, but for the most part I wouldn't worry about it as long as there isn't anything around your bed that could snag your hair.
