Hey Kristin-
Just wanted to let you know that the pics on your site are absolutely AWESOME. . .you do SUCH beautiful seamless work!!
So here's my question. We've had just a few discussions here &
there about cutting the extensions. i.e. razor cutting with razor,
scissors, whatever. . .
Can you share some of your secrets about how you get SUCH AMAZING and
natural looking ends?? It's easy to hide a crappy cut-job with curls. .
.but with straight hair. . .no hiding!!
Any light you want to shed is MUCH appreciated. Again - your work is GORGEOUS!!
My trick is that I don't cut the hair, not once it's on the head anyways.... It's a little tricky with extendtubes and shrinkies because the hair needs to be pre-tipped but when doing fusion it's really easy... I hang my wefts up in all the colors I'm going to be using in let's say in 18" hair. I always start at the bottom of the head work my way up and then do the front sides last. When I start my first row I snip the pieces of hair I need off the weft about 2 1/2 -3 inches below the top of the weft... When I'm done with that row of hair I start on the next row about 1" or so above the first. The stands I snip off the weft this time will be cut about about 1 1/2cm closer to the weft as the strands for the last row were... As you move up the head the pieces you are using are getting longer and longer... The result of this leaves a nice smooth finish at the bottom with no cutting what so ever (woooo hoooo!).
I love it becaus the ends of te hair always have that razored look like this:
I also put in shorter layers around the face to get a more natural look.
Here's another example of a girl who wanted really choppy hair so I varied the lengths a lot more and got this result:
Sorry If I confused anyone... Let me know if I can clairify anything
Aha!! I must admit I was wondering . . . OK, another trick of the trade!!
Hmmmm. . . so I guess in my willy-nilly, "I'll take a piece out here,
add a strand in there, replace this with that" method, it's hard to get
your beautiful finished look. . .LOL. . .I'll get there sooner or
later!!
