Hi there
I'm getting really fed up of my coloured blonde hair....with having regular touch ups its really not doing my hair condition any favours....so I've decided I'd like to go back to my natural colour.
Unfortunately my natural colour is a dark ash/mousey yukky colour.....but I was thinking once its as natural as poss I could use the colour enhancing shampoos and conditioners that are available on the market to give it that extra 'zing and shine'!
I'm hoping to colour it myself at home this weekend and wondered if anyone had any top tips/advice before I start!!
If your hair is really light you may have to dye it twice to go
back. Hair dye is meant to work with the color you have to
achieve a certain result, and the lighter your hair, the less colors
you have in it to work with the dye. (In other words, if you use ash
you risk coming out too green, and if you use reddish brown you risk
coming out red, so you may have to actually use one, then the
other). If your hair is what you'd call yellow, you'd be safe
using a color with a violet base, but if it's more of a white blonde or
ashy blonde, that may not work (may give you too gray hair). I'd
suggest having it done at a salon so they can take into account what
color your hair is.
