What do you do if a company breach the data protection law and hand out say your full name, full address and credit card details out of spite because you didnt like their product? I mean we have all ordred hair online at some point.

What would you do in this situation?

Has anyone ever been in this situation? If so how did you manage to get it resolved?

Are you telling me that lady from SGB did this.Thats horrible. Its so hard these days to protect from identity theft these days but people like that dont help the matter any.I would seek some kind of legal action. There's no way this can be legal..I would be so upset if that happened to me.I'm so sorry shel.I hope something is done in your defense.Who is this wackjob anyway. And how many people has she done this too.

If she gave out your credit card info, you should first call your credit card company and let them know, and then perhaps call the police and report it, because I'm sure it's illegal what that wench did!

Hi

I would get information from the CAB or have a look at the data protection law and act which you can find on the net.  This should not happen at all and you could probably sue her.

I do know when people ring companies they will not give out details of others as they state its against data protection act 1986.

Check it out!!

Hey everyone take a look at this I found it on the web then someone sent me an email about it!!

Shel, you absolutely need to take action....she not only ripped you off, which most of the time we chalk up to a learning experience and we move on, but she slandered you over and over and then violated many laws by giving out your name, personal data and credit card infomation. Someone like that NEEDS to be dealt with appropriately!

Amm you should be on guard too... she sounds like a wackoooooo

I can say absolutely that this softgentlebreeze person is giving out
Shel's home address as I have just received it today. Now, why it is
any of my business is beyond me. SGB apparently thinks I
purchased hair from her fradulently (her words) just so I could give it
a bad review. SGB honey, trust me, the hair spoke for itself. She
also is claiming I altered the hair and manipulated the weight so it
would not be as she advertised.

SGB then wrote to me and thanked me profusely for my post about
her hair as it drove the natural Profibre sales up the roof. Uh huh.
Funny, there's not one feedback she's left for it.

Shel is not a person I have ever spoken to privately and she has not
in any way devulged her private info ... yet here I have it.

Shel, you said you had an attorney? If so, that is the person you
should be going to with your questions.

I don't mind getting this off your chest but I don't want the board
mired down because of this deranged eBay seller.

yeah me too.  I cant belive it.  Just everyone be extra careful when giving credit card info and use paypal always if you can rather than giving the seller the details directly. I am getting this sorted and will speak to someone else about it today again to update the situation.  Amm may i have a copy of that email she sent you humanhair100@aol.com

Thanks,

x

I'm sorry to hear about this, too. There is absolutely no excuse for releasing a customer's personal information. Ever.

But as AMM said, and especially if you intend to pursue legal action, I would recommend not writing about this on public boards going forward. Using PMs or email would be wiser, I think.

Best of luck for a speedy resolution with this. :)
