Ok, I am still practicing extensions but I would love to know everyones opinions on starting to charge for clients. 1) I am NOT doing this until I know for sure I will be able to. 2) I am STILL going to be working on friends and family, but I am wondering for a little in the future. I know I shouldn't charge outrageous prices and what not.

I was thinking of buying a manniquin to practice on and perfect until I know for sure. I think that would be a great idea. I know that if I do that, I can show people my work as well.

Overall, I think I like doing weaves, liquid gold bonding, and shrinkies the best.

My last question. You guys know where I good place to go (online probably) for supplies and stuff? I already have a place to actually get the stuff for extensions (like from amm's shrinkie site and the shop down the street) but I really would like to know where to get nice supplies like scissors and razors, brushes, shampoos and conditioners, and anything else i may need besides the ACTUAL extensions items.

Thanks for all your guys' help!

Hugs!

For the general hair supplies, check out your local beauty supply store, like Sally's Beauty Supply sells the scissors, etc.

Many professional beauty supplies stores will not sell to unlicensed people, so do some calling around to check that out.

As for pricing, I'd do a little detective work, if I were you.  Call around to other salons, (pretening your a potential client) and ask what type of extensions they do and how much they charge.  That way you can know what is considered the average price in your area.
