so i got my hair in today and you remember how we thought it would be like vanille and seiden with a few regular blonde highlights...well its going to be reverse, blonde regular mixed in with a lot of seiden and vanille highlights, go figure!  i swear my hair changes color randomly or something... and can you believe i got that plastikhaar in less then a week? it shipped the 26th, yay for me! now lots and lots of work ahead of me, uninstalling the hair i have in now, pretipping the plastikhaar and reinstalling that ahhhh.. one question if anyone knows, does sally sell those thingies to blend colors together? thanks!

Oh Lucky.  are you talking about a Mangle?  Sherrie had a link to one for $35 in Jan. I think....   Otherwise they cost $80.  But you can do it yourself.  Split every color in half (to make workable amounts.).  Layer the colors you want to mix on top of eachother (make a conscious decision about your mixture ratios).  Mix the hair with your thumb and for-finger as you split the hair in half, reverse and repeat for about 1/2 hour.  You don't need no stinkin tools.  Go for it.  Every two or three mixes, I wrap the hair around my palm to lock it in and comb out the ends.

Listen, people, before the month is out I'm going to post pictures. It's a challenge to myself more than anything.

What's a mangle? Is it the same thing as a hackel?

I agree with Scotchy--you really don't need any fancy tools. I have some drawing mats, which were quite expensive and I think they actually make blending harder. My stylist has a hackle, and he runs the hair through it occasionally, but he mainly blends the hair by separating the hair with his hands over and over. A hackel might be a good investment if you're doing lots of hair, but I would try doing what Scotchy suggested first.

:)
