I'm looking into getting my ends really thinned out and loose, and someone mentioned how you can get some of the layers underneath your hair cut out. Does anyone know what I would have to ask for to get this done? I've seen a few people with this look lately, and the ends are extremely thin.

"Loose"? Thinning won't change the texture of your hair at all, won't change it from coarse to fine and silky, but it will make the ends as thin as you like.

Ask for thinning, yes.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

I think you might have been referring to the reply I made where someone with extremely thick hair couldnt get it to lay down(curly texture also).Yeah My husband gets whats called an undercut.Like I said I usually hate those. The only reason he can carry it off cause even with it his hair is still way thicker than most people's hair.He has alot of hair and thats after his undercut.Ekatherine is exactly right. It wont change your hair texture. But it will help it lay down better. But I think for what you want get this undercut idea out of your head.It only something to do if your hair is long but embarrassingly poofy. I think the thinning idea is great though.Which is a completely different thing.

Maybe you've been seeing razoring. I don't think when your hair is thinned that the ends are much thinner than the rest of the hair.

It could be razoring. What does that involve?

And about the under-cut thing, i probably wouldn't get that done now, now that you've explained it. my hair isn't that thick, but i'd like it slightly thinner at the ends.
