Hi,

I'm looking for a hair extension stylist in Los Angeles, prefer Westside.

Can anyone recommend someone to install hair?

I buy my own Russsian Hair and just need someone to put it in.

I prefer individuals, or glue in with weft with Liquid Gold.

Also, how much for 55 to 70 individuals? And how long would it take?

Thanks in advance!

Christina

We've got a few girls from Socal on here who will know the answer.  But when you say individuals do you mean pinch braids or fusion or heat seals or...?

Mochachip:

I mean fusion, with the hot glue gun. My old stylist used megaglue that she purchased at His and Her. However, after the last couple installs with her, my hair was shedding so much, and I was loosing a lot of strands. I just can't stand it anymore. Therefore, I'm looking to try out someone new, I'd even be open to a new method. I have very fine Caucasion hair and the only hair that looks natural and real is the Russian hair. Also, my hair is very silky and slippery.

The only methods that didn't budge were GL, Eurolocs and Hairlocs. But the cost, attitude and quality of hair isn't worth spending that much money on.

It seems like such a waste when I do the fusion method because I end throwing it all out after 2-3 months.

Cheers, Christina

What are extentubes? Are they the metal thingies that you squeeze over the glue?

I tried those, they were okay, but I still had a lot of shedding, that's why I'm wondering if perhaps it's my stylist.

they're similar to hairlocs and eurolocs.

The one thing everyone seems to agree on is that why they work on some and not on other is a bit of a mystery.

But the hair is tipped in glue yes.  and that way even if it does come out at least you can reuse the hair.

From my experience, during the removal stage the bond gets so crunchy and gross that it's really hard to salvage the hair, which is a pain especially when you spend the money on expensive hair.

I just emailed Kristine and hope to hear from her.

Thanks so much for the referral, I hope it works out with her.

Her site is great!!! I love all the pictures, very informative.

Broomeboy:

Finding Russian hair has been virtually impossible, even in LA.

I was able to find some at extension plus in Reseda, it was ridiculously priced, but really pretty and silky. Actually, it's most likely Italian type of hair.

The last batch of hair I bought from them looked and felt good for about a month and then it slowly started to get really wiry and stiff and it took a lot of work to get it to look right, lots of hot tools.

Whenever I can't find good hair I buy the 909 fron Hairshop.com, it's really nice and silky and very reasonably priced.

And it held up even better than the extension plus hair. But I am forever seeking the holy grail of Russian type hair.

Hope this helps,

Christina
