I'm doing tie ins/PB's all over my head starting either tonight or tomorrow

I've been planning on a little less than an inch braided before I tie them off.  I know I should go post at Quinn's site cause eppople do this kinda thing more often there but anyhow.  Since the plan is for all the braids to be visible...

How long do you think each braid needs to be, absolute minimum before I ties it off?
Do you think slightly shorter or slightly longer braids are more attractive?

mmm time to blend.  then hubby is taking me to buy thread.  then we'll start in the back and see what yall have to say.
