I am having a hard time finding a good deep condtioner for my natural hair. I have been to the Long hair.com forum which is very informative and they were saying to avoid conditioners with protein in them for natural hair.I also thought that I had found a good shampoo (CON) but they were saying it has balsem in it. Has any one had problems with Con? and what deep conditoner does not have protein in it

Do a little experiment: try washing your comb or brush in it. You;ll notice a lot of SOLID gunk coming from the shampoo. Gunk that would be in your hair. Why would I want that in my hair?
Neutregena Triple Moisture shampoo does what a gentle shampoo is supposed to do, cleans off surface dirt and sweat, moistrurizes and doesn't leave an obsene amount of build-up. Try it! :)
You can use protein on natural hair, just don't use too much keratin. I suppose that you should use a reconstructor once in a while though.
Other lighter, less potent proteins are fine to use in moderation (don't shy away from conditioners because they contain silk, milk or wheat proteins).
My favorite conditioner to use is called Luster's Revitalex Conditioner. It's cheap, easy to find, smells good, conditions extremely well, DETANGLES like a dream and coincidently, it contains no protein. :)
I'm a natural as well (3a/4c) and for deep conditioners I use Africa's Best Hair Mayo (it has no mineral oil or petrolum) and I also use a concotion of honey, EVOO, & V05 Free Me Fressia. My hair loves this stuff.
As far as protein, I just crack open a egg and mix it with mayo. I do this once a month...and that's all my hair needs.

Kally, Organics Hair Mayo is great and it leaves the hair soft. I have used CON shampoo, at first I liked it because it does add slip to your hair, but I didn't like the build-up. I don't use alot of shampoo now. But the conditioner I'm loving right now that I've mentioned a couple of times is Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner. It smells great and my hair is super soft afterwards. I've heard of naturals using it and loving it. I found mine at Vitamin Shoppe for about $7.00. NTM Deep Recovery Mask is good too.
i just bought some con but i have not used it yet. I use aussie or tresseme most of the time but i am currently loving a shampoo concentrate(heb-plus) that i got from www.thechemistrystore.com , i also got the vitamin fortified conditioner from them as well and i love both products. I am natural btw. For a deep conditioner- i use cholesterol and i sit under the dryer for 30-45 mins. Hope this helps.
