QuoteReplyTopic: Dry Wavy hair Posted: June 16 2005 at 3:25pm
Just had a question. Well i have wavyish hair, i can part the top and it's pretty straight until the ends where it gets curly. So the sides and back are the most curly with slighty curls in the front. I've been growing it out for a little while. It's about 4 to 5 inches i'd say. Well the problem is that the curls get all dry and frizzy. It really makes my hair look ugly.
I wash my hair everyday and i have to because i get rashes if i don't. So keeping oil in my hair is out of the question. i use dove's intense moisture conditioner also. I towel dry my hair lightly, and let the rest naturally dry and it's still frizzy.
For my style, i pretty much just part the middle and push the front down so it's close to my eyes. Pretty much just a shaggyish hair style.
So can i do anything to make it less dry looking? I'm wary of using gels and leave in stuff because no one really knows the effects of that junk. So i would prefer a solution without leave in stuff. Should i just cut my hair? or style is differently? Towel dry more? Any advice would greatly help. Thanks a bunch.
p.s. I've never dyed or straightened my hair. It only gets blow dried at haircuts. So i don't think there is any damage. Thank you!

if you wash your hair everyday your hair will be dry.
what you can do is to dilute your shampoo by using 2 part shampoo and 1 parts of water. some women here swear on diluted shampoo to protect hair from drying out from shampooing. dont worry you will still get a good lather. also applying conditioner or oils (coconut, jojoba, olive) before shampooing prevents it from drying out. but remember to apply conditioner after you shampoo it.l
man, use some good leave in conditioner which is good for the hair like kiehl's creme with silk groom after towel dry. Also use a mild shampoo like Phytopanama, it's really mild.

use conditioner only when you shampoo and yes condition before and after shampooing.
for some people some conditioner uses a lot of silicones to make hair smooth and shiny but some people have bad effects to it. like to much silicon build up on their hair and scalp. some just have no problem using it.
hahha all right sounds good, i don't think dove would have silicone, is there any way to find out? would it be on the ingredients list? are there any other ingredients bad for the hair (in the long run) i should look out for? i don't wanna find out all this stuff is going to make me go bald .
You guys are awesome, thanks a bunch.

sadly to say almost every shampoo you can find in a drugstore or supermarket contains silicones. their names ends with cones. besides those shampoo and conditioner that contains no silicones are very expensive but if you think you have the money to spend. go for it. hairboutiques sells many all natural shampoos that contain little or no sillicones. check it out.
