QuoteReplyTopic: extentubes slipping... Posted: June 19 2005 at 10:02pm
I had quite a bit of extentubes slip out over the past few weeks (at least 3
every time I shower). I'm not sure if this is because me hair is so fine or
what???????? Anyways any advice on this one?? thanks ladies!
Before I install any hair I wash it really good with a clarifying
shampoo 3x and very little conditioner on the ends.
Then I determine the width of the strand and take equal
amounts to the width of the tube, ring, coil, shell, locs, metal
{whatever}. Finally I squeeze really tight. If you squeeze hard
enough, the hair will not slip and no grease or chemicals can
get inside the closed metal.
Be careful if you have to use a really expensive clamp like the
EuroLocs ones because as I was closing tightly, my clamp
broke {darn!}; so I now use a really cheap clamp from a craft
store.
Oh yeah, be careful too when closing the metal tight, because
the metal clamp can chew off your hair.
I've always had trouble with rings/extentubes slipping until I started
double-ringing them. Basically, just thread two rings onto the strand
of hair instead of one, and clamp one down in the normal place and the
next one one-eighth of an inch below that. Seems to have solved any
slipping problems so far!
