I'm in desperate need of ideas for my hair. I know the sides are short because I'm military. I'm trying to grow the sides out. I'll post one pic of dry, flat hair with nothing done, and I'll post a couple with the ways I usually style it myself. What do I need to do! It's too short, fine, wispy, light, etc....
Sorry for the dorky pose....and finally, after 5 or 10 minutes of styling

are the military going to accept u growing your hair about abit?

your hairstyle at the mo is pretty cool i think, although as u said it could do with some more lenght..keep those sides growing, could take a good few months and leave the top for now..when its looking pretty longish, u can go get it cut and styled at a hairdresser rather than barbour

you dont want shavers ok? stick with the scissors and if u can afford go somewhere pricey..when your hair thickens abit, is longer and has been cut well, abit of wax to define and texturise it should result in a very cool hairstyle that im pretty sure will suit u..

I'm wondering whether the  hairdresser will know  how to cut the top so that it will blend well with the sides while I let the sides grow out more. The military doesn't care how long my hair gets as long as it doesn't touch collar or ears and isn't too bulky. Trust me, I know alot of guys with alot more hair than me.  But anyways, what should I ask for next time I go in for a trim, so that they stay away from the sides, without letting the top get too out of control...?
