i googled MILITARY BRUSH and it seem that a military brush is a brush that doesn't have a handle. so if you got a brush that doesn't have a handle then its a military brush. they also come in different shapes. here's a few examples.

i like brushes w/o handles because you get a more even distribution of pressure on the brush (soundin smart)
