I have a HH Simonsen "Wet2Dry" iron.

http://www.hhsimonsen.dk/index.php?page=elappl&subpage=w et2dry&language=1

I found that 180 C was enough to melt the hair (it goes to 220 C), and then i quickly rolled it, before i cooled down. If needed I went over it with the wand.

I will try not to get the shrinkies sticking out, thanks .

What Laura said about the shrinkies sticking out the top.

I'm impressed with your success at making the tips.
What was your reasoning on coating with the nail glue?

Is it me, or does it look like the shrinkies could be shrunk down even more?

Your dolly is very pretty!

Mocha: Thank you .
Well I thought the nail glue would be an extra protection from the tips breaking? Itīs possible that I donīt need it (that would be wonderfull, the nailglue really getīs in my nose ).

Bridget: Itīs very possible. Itīs my first shrinkies ever, so I was carefully, and not sure how much they could shrink.
And thank you. I got the doll from Sara at PlastikHaar.

HOld the iron over the shrikie for like 30 or 45 seconds.  You probably won't need to hold it that long for regular installation but you won't hurt anything and then you will know just how small they can get.

I was thinking that if the inside of the tip wasn't as melted that the nail glue would keep those hairs from shedding.

The tips are melted all the way through. When I take the tips out of the iron they look a little like nailtips, and then i burn my fingers rolling them, before they cool of.
I must think of something to use, to protect my fingers. I donīt thing they look god after 150 tips .

My only concern would be the hair breaking off right at the bottom of  the melted part. Would melting it make it fragile? I may be totally wrong on this thought. Since I know the hair, when used for heatseals get melted. But thats done a little differently. Any ideas on this?

If this works though, it would be wonderful. Would save everyone from pretipping with glue and all that.....

Sherrie, I have pulled the shrinkies in the dollys hair so hard that it would really hurt a real person, and they donīt break.

When I melt it, I have noticed that 2 or 3 hairs break of in the process, but the rest stays put.

I have had this idea for quite some time, and when I saw Sara doing it, I thought Iīd give it a try .
