Coloring black indian hair

Is there any threads on this? I searched but cant find much.  My friend just got some indianhairs and wants to get hers about the same as my RK #2 ..somewhere like a #4 or # 6--dark brown or a dark auburn brown.  Does she have to bleach to get there?  I guess she tried using Feria extra lift for browns but it didnt do a thing.  Her hair is curly so what would be the best way to make the hair brown without doing too much damage.  Curly hair seems to be easier to damage with color than straight..at least thats been m experience.

Thanks. Actually I did see that but guess I just skipped over it because it was blonde hair and she was doing bleaching.  We're scared of bleach.

Always remember you cant remove color with color... i would try a strand test and do a soap cap with like 10dev and bleach for about 5 to 10 min.. the soap cap will lighten it then go back and deposit your color.. make sure u do a strand test first 

Fina, I've heard "soap cap" or bleach cap described 2 ways - mixing up a batch of bleach and replacing the developer with shampoo, or mixing up a normal batch of bleach (low peroxide vol.) and adding shampoo to it to cut the concentration. You're supposed to keep it moving on the hair - like shampooing. It's used a lot for minor color corrections like Color Fix. Or to lift the cuticle a bit on color resistant virgin hair before a deposit only color. I think it's discussed more on the hair dye board.
