I think you should get bangs, just to try them out. Get longer bangs and trim them if you want to try them shorter. Much easier than cutting them short and realizing you'd rather they were longer.

Whether you'd look good with bangs, and what kind of bangs, .. it depends on what your forehead looks like. I'm not sure what the "rule" is, and it's not really a rule either. It goes, "If you have a long forehead then ________, and if you have a short forehead then _______." I think long-foreheads are the ones who shouldn't do bangs. Somebody correct me.
Sideswept bangs would be cute though. Get 'em just long enough to tuck behind one ear, and part your hair to one side.
