Both. I used a soft brush when my hair was wet, cuz it was a lot more sensitive, and after I aid the moisturizer and pomade I switch to the hard brush.

I brush em at an angle from the top of my head diagonally to my ear (hope that makes sense).

If u look on the sides of my head, from the sides to the top the pattern is forming nicely, but if u see the top of the pic, they aren't forming like i want them to. Do you think I should focus on brushing the middle cuz that's where they aren't connecting. Or should I just keep doing what I'm doing?

I got pink lotion, sportin waves, and ice in their. You probably can't tell cuz of the lighting though.
