i personally, knew that coarse hair wasnt a bad thing. i have coase hair, and i think its good. everybody was sayin nappy n stuff. so i had to state my views. u have fine hair, medium hair, and coarse hair. to say one is better than the other is to compare them to skin tone and pigmentation, and say lighter is better than darker.
yea coarse hair is better in my opinion the society just makes it look bad
Well at lease we have some dialog about an issue that has divided our people every since we've been here. America has us thinking coarse hair is bad when it's just natural. If you hate natural hair, then you hate GOD. God made us in his image and the hair comes with the package.

Hair and Skin 101 (put your on so you can see and understand)
Did you know that humans look different for the same reasons animals on different countries look different but are in the same family?
Isolated genes
Our hair matches our original enviroment, Africa. Example: our skin is dark because of the heat and sun in Africa. Over 100's of years in Africa our bodies adjusted to the enviroment.
Our hair is thick are "coarse" because it helped to keep our scalp cool and protected from the sun.
Our Skin is dark because of the sun. Dark skin absorbs and processes sun very easily. Our skin really makes more MELONTONIN than other races of people. Melontonin is what make us happy and what makes of sleep good even in harsh conditions. Our bodies are naturally made to be protect us in the sun and heat. This is why we are called "Sun People" because we are people of a sunny hot country called Africa.
White people are more suited for Cold Weather. Why biggmike? Because their place of origion is a cold place with very little bright hot sun.
Their Hair is made for cold air and low sun light. Did you know white people are more prone to have hair covering their bodies than African Americans. In African we didn't need to be warm from hair, we got that from the air in Africa. Have you ever notice how "young" white men deal with hair loss more than Black men. Our hair is thicker and more coarse than theirs and so we don't bald as fast.
Their skin is light because of the frigid enviroment they originated from. They were isolated to this enviroment for so long that their skin turned to a pale light color and adapted to the cold weather. Light skin holds heat longer than dark skin. Light skin people tend to tolerate cold weather better than dark skin people. This is why there are so many whites in the north east, north west America, and any other cold part of the world. It's cold up there, but comfortable. They don't like the heat. Me I'm fine with the 80 degrees or better. I can deal with it, they can't because of their physical traits.
For this very reason African men were chosen to be slaves. Europeans could not handle the heat and diseases as well as the Africans. They know we are big and strong and well built for hard work. Our muscles grow bigger and or more flexable by sure genetics. We can work in the sun all day and not get sun burned just like Hispanics and Indians. Our skin is naturally made for the sun. We are the Sun People.
So now you know why we were brought here, to carry the burdens (in the heat and sun) for this country. Will you respect dark skin brothers and Africans now or do you still think coarse hair is "Bad Hair"? This is pure ignorance in the African "American" race that we must overcome.

The term coarse means HARD just as straight hair can be coarse (HARD) as well....your hair can be tightly coiled (nappy) and be soft but everyone believes Black people have hard hair. I wear an afro...nothing hard about my hair.
The term which you asked is does not describe a texture of hair...it is an adjative to describe the solidity of an object. (for lack of better words)
