Help!! I can't decide between the two. I know people like Sedu, but it seems it breaks. So it's between maxiglide and solia.

hey, i hope this helps you out (or at least somebody) -- i just got my solia, after getting my hair straightened for years professionally. I was worried that it wouldn't work with my hair type however it is AMAZING. my hair is pin straight after using it. I normally go over each section of hair twice. Five days after using the flat iron, my hair is still straight (save for some new growth coming in). There's also a warrenty on Solia, which you probably don't need since it doesn't break as easily as the Sedu or CHI. I was originally going to get one of those two -- I was leaning towards the CHI-- but of my 4 friends who bought CHIs, only one still has a working CHI. They all had theirs for less than one year. I've heard reports of the Sedu having a short life as well. So Solia it is! Let me know how you like it if you got it!

Hmm yeah I was actually gonna post a similar question.

I wanted to know had anyone tried both the Sedu and the Maxiglide..because the sedu has gotten better reviews (from what I've seen) then the Chi and Solia..at least on folica.com

I know the maxiglide has the little straightening pins...but I've also heard that pulls our "nappy" hair. I know the maxiglide has steam, but I've heard that may make hair frizzy....positives and negatives. hmm.

Personally, I've only heard good things about the Sedu. I ordered mine and it arrives Wednesday. I'll post back on how that goes.

Oh! Yeah I just wanted to add...for those concerned with flat irons having a short lifespan...if you buy from folica they have a 1 year warranty they'll honor...so that's cool.

Polyesterdiva, I've also heard great things about the sedu as well. I guess for me, I was trying to find the best ceramic straightener for the least amount of money, so I went with the solia. Also, I heard it was easier to reach the edges and roots with a solia because of its design (which I really needed because my sides tend to break). I love my solia and it's great! But I can't imagine the sedu being anything less than great either! Let us know how it works out on Wednesday.
