Hi im new here and i would appreciate it if sum1 could help me!
My natural color is kinda medium brown and i had blonde highlights about a year ago and my hair was already growing to my shoulders. well i was tired of having my hair two colors so i decided to go to the salon and dye it dark brown so it could even out. at first my hair was REALLY dark and in about a week my hair was a beautiful dark brown! well the problem was i started going out in the sun with no protection on my hair or anything so the color faded away and now its in a mix of orange/brown! i am thinking of dying it dark brown again but i am afraid that the orange color from the sun will still show.. if i keep my hair away from the sun after i dye it, do u guys think it will still fade back to orange or not? what should i do?? sorry if im not making sense but im really frustrated with my hair right now and if i dont get help im going to chop all of my hair off!! im dead serious!!! lol please help a girl out!! thanks!

bleached hair is porous and doesn't hold on to color as well as non bleached hair, you can re dye with a demi permenant color (very litle damage compared to "regular" hairdye) and it'll be fine. You might have to repeat this process untill the bleached parts are cut off.

Kalika is right you should most likely go with a demi-permanent haircolor. The reason your color faded is because that cuticle layer of the hair is open. Demi permanent is deposit only haircolor it won't lift your hair to a different color like permanent haircolor. It just stains the hair shaft but in your case with a demi-perment color it can provide long lasting color without the damage of the permanent haircolor because your cuticle is open.
Also if you goto a salon for this demi color service you should ask for something over the color like a Goldwell Colorance Clear to add shine and help close that cuticle down to preserve the color as much as possible. It will allow the color to last longer and not fade as quickly.
thanks to both of you girls for your help, i am thinking of just letting my natural color grow out, its already like an inch or so grown out...wat can i do to get rid of the red/orange brassiness of my hair besides staying out of the sun?

The sun does not fad permanent colour. The colour will be fading due to washing and the fact that you had blonde bits before. Hot oils and deep conditioners for coloured hair can help maintain its colour and healthiness, but to get rid of the brassiness you really need to colour it again.
