Hi.  I have short hair and right now it is medium blonde with light blonde highlights.  I change my haircolor all the time and I absolutely love to do it!  I am really trying to advance my skill level with dying my hair and usually do my own.  So far, I have had many compliments.  I am really interested in darkening my hair. I want to do something a little daring, yet still suitable for a customer service job.  Any suggestions?  Also, I have medium skintone and green eyes.

Yes, try Loreal Feria Chocolate Cherry (Deep Burgundy Brown) it's one of
their best sellers so you will have no problem finding it at Wal*Mart. I got
so many compliments when I was that color a year ago, but I change
often just like you so now I am just a Deep Burgundy and working up to a
light reddish blonde :) You can see all the shades by going to
www.lorealferia.com and select Shade Displays. Chocolate Cherry is in
the Reds section.

Ok, so I checked that out.  I like that color and the Crushed Garnet color.  It does say, however, that lighter hair will have more intense results.  I have no desire to look like Ronald McDonald nor do I want to end up really purple.  Should I do some sort of highlight with it to kind of alter the color...or do 2 colors to give it some depth?  And...I used blonde haircare products now, so would I switch to red or brunette hair care products?

well just a warning from someone switching back from blonde to red all the time when u decide to go back to blonde after the red u will have troubles if u wanna go an ash colour or platinuim cuz it will always have a reddish tone and it wont come out unless u bleached ur hair really many times that ur hair will be so tired so if u'll go red now just dont think about going platinuim or ash any time soon

EEK!  Stay away from Feria, especially the intense reds.  They don't come out very easily.  Your hair sounds nice as it is, please think carefully before messing with it!

Ok, I changed my mind.  I am using the Feria products.  But, I have decided on Havana Brown (medium brown) and I am doing mohagany highlights.  So, not going red.  I am hoping this will turn out well..doing it tonight.

Hi honda_chik,

I fully agree with KB. I have't tried the Feria's but I have heard alot about them. The biggest complaints is that the colors are VERY vibrant especially the reds. Remember that if you go darker and you don't like it...it's alot harder to correct the mistake. My niece who has beautiful dark blonde hair with natural light blonde highlights went and got her hair professionally colored red. It was AWFUL!!!! She actually paid to have her hair ruined. She has desperatly been trying to go back to her natural color and highlights and she has come to find that the only way to achieve this is let it grow out. She has been growing out her hair for 2 years now. Please benefit by her mistake.

Ok, I did it.  And..it looks great.  I have medium brown hair with mohagany highlights.  Gotten lots of compliments..it works with the green eyes and makes them "pop".  Good times.
