Hi Everyone, me again... i went to the hair dresser on sunday (whimper) and had to have an inch taken off in the front because it was so damaged from camp... the back only needed a 1/4" trim though. My hairdresser Dana told me that my hair was very seriously dry and needed to be repaired (I want to get a wave put in). Any sugestion for a good deep conditioner and how to use it?

Back to Basics Raspberry and Almond is great. And for really deep/heavy care, (not for frequent use), Queen Helene`s "Cholesterol", is also great. Enjoy.

I`m very impressed with L`Oreal`s Mega Moisture. It really does a terrific conditioning job in just 5 minutes (the shampoo is quite good too but I don`t recommend it for every day use). I also use L`Oreal`s Mermade conditioner and have always gotten very good results with it (leave it on for 20 minutes). I got very nice results using Cholersterol with a heat cap but find these products work quite well without one. I get them at Sally`s. Hope this helps. Good luck! ;)

I like Giovanni`s Nutrafixx for deep conditioning. It`s very thick and creamy - I distribute it thru my hair with a wide tooth comb.

I assume a wave is a permanent. Do NOT do it! If your hair is already "Very seriously dry" this will only make it worse. Then you`ll just end up having to cut more off to get rid of the damage.

the best way to deep condition ur hair, as someone advised me the other day.

Use a professional deep conditioning treatment such as Kerastase, or Tigi.

Wash ur hair, (preferably at night) normally, but do not use conditioner. After showering, towel dry your hair, then use a generous amout of deep conditioning treatment, and come through. Wrap a towel around your head and leave til next morning. In the morning rinse outt he treatment.

After a couple of weeks of this treatment, ur hair should be in a better condition.

Its not possible. They are still split. Those products just hold them together like a glue to keep them from splittling more.

I`ve used Sebastian Potion 7. It`s an intense conditioning treatment that you leave on overnight. A hair dresser recommended that after you apply the treatment, to wrap your hair in a plastic wrap or bag and heat it with a blowdryer until it feels very warm. She said this will allow it to penetrate deeper.

Lots of luck!

Happy Hair Days to You All!!!

As someone above pointed out, you can`t repair split ends--ever. The same goes for your hair in general. If you`ve processed your hair--either for texture or color--the damage is permanent and NO amount of deep conditioner or "reconstructor" will change that. Hair is dead, and without cell turnover your hair cannot become healthy again. The new growth will be fine, of course, but the damaged part will be like that until you cut it off, it`s as simple as that. You can, however, use good emollient conditioners to coat the hair shaft, masking damage and making your hair look/feel better. Although the effect is merely cosmetic and superficial, it can make your hair at least appear healthy.

A couple of REALLY good conditioners I absolutely love: Biotera reconstructor, Aura Almond Cherry Bark revitalizing conditioner and got2b in therapy. All are reasonably priced and make my hair shiny and healthy-looking, even though the last 3-4 inches of my hair are damaged and dry. Hope this helps.

I use the Cholesterol Product on my hair. I don`t use it too often, but I works good. I just use it on the ends of my hair.
I also Use the Infusieum Products. Where I live at, I don`t have access to the more "premium" brands, that brand seems to work good on my hair.
