Ah, perhaps you are correct, Debbie. I may have misread her response.
Spelling, verb tense, and punctuation matter!
Ragdoll wrote: "
i just had it trim"
In the context of having described hours earlier having a lot cut, her
verbatim comment seems inconsistent with "I just had it trim."
There's a large difference between "I just had it trimmed" and "I just have it trimmed" and given the difference in verb tense it's no wonder I was confused.

This poor girl. We can't all be Shakespeares. (Actually, Shakespeare's grammar wasn't all that great. It was his vocab that was kick-A.)
I have heard the same thing about American English: It's one of the hardest languages to master (among languages that contain similar letter characters...this leaves out most of the Asian languages). Personally, I love English because it's quirky, unpredictable, difficult, and beautiful. The main reason English (English English, LOL) seems so "mismatched" is that, frankly, it is. Teutonic/Germanic, Latin and ancient Celtic have precious little in common. It's actually pretty amazing that it developed as a language at all.
Okay. Hijack over. :) This poor girl. All she wanted was advice on her hair...

No, Dave. That still makes sense. She's using the past tense because she's describing what she used to do. Now, with short hair, it will probably be different.
By the way...HOLY COW on your photo. Wooooooooooooooow. Holy guacamole. You take such excellent care of your hair. You should be very proud.

So, the deed is done. I could sense your urgency! As short styles go, I
think well-cut bobs look very nice on many women. My own wife looked
good with a bob as she was growing out her pixie, but after one
maintenance cut, she decided to keep growing b/c it took too her too much time to style it. Good luck, Bob

Ragdoll is posting from within the United States. So, there are
two possibilities, as I see it: (1) eKath is correct, or (2) ragdoll's
native language is English, but her command of the language isn't quite
top notch. Either way, Ragdoll's comment wasn't phrased in a way to prevent
confusion.
And Mels, her words were "I just have it trim" As it is, it doesn't quite make sense. Possibilities:
"I just have it trimmed"
"I just have a trim"
"I just had a trim"
"I just had it trimmed"
Have or had, trim or trimmed... we were all left to guess what she
really meant. No matter, we all clearly understand now what she
did.
Okay, end of my nit-picky language dissection.
P.S. Thank you muchly for the compliment, Mels!

I know that sometimes I donot pronounce my words correctly and I KNOW that I make many mistakes on here! Also in diferent parts of the USA we speak diferently also. (We won't get into that though!). Dave are you a teacher by any chance? LOL! If so, I will try and make sure there are no errors in my grammer! LOL! But my spelling---I cannot do anything about that - I still blame it on these bifocals! AHHH!!! Another happy ending on here!
