I'm getting to the stage of being really bored waiting for my hair to grow and not getting the compliments etc that you get after a new cut or style, but i'm trying to stay focused on growing my hair cause i really love the feeling of it being long. I have been considering doing something different and have been wondering about dying the underside electric blue or something mad. I sound really attention seeking now but i'm actually dead shy!

Anyways... i was curious to know what anyone else has done to overcome the boredom phase or if it is just a case of waiting for the stage to pass. And any ideas/suggestions or whatever would be great.

Thanks in advance

I can definitely relate. I did something similar to your electric blue idea, only I used black dye. It was a lot of fun. That type of thing will get you more comments than a haircut!

Or you could try thinking of something non-hair you could change. I pierced my ears and voila - brand new way to accessorize and compliment my hair.

Buckiefairy - my suggestion is to ask yourself what else you can improve in your life?  While you wait to get the hair you want... try to work on something else.  This approach has two benefits: (1) you focus on other things you want to improve, increasing your chances of achieving them, and (2) your hair grows while you are not even thinking about it.

Buckie,

I'm the same  way!  I have been changing my hair by dying it instead of cutting it.  I also got a new tattoo lol that helped for awhile!

Good luck!

instead of coloring your hair, get some clip in extension pieces of a diffrent color, then you can switch out all you want and have no color damage.

Get hairtoys and play with you hair. Put it up and try different styles and buns. Clip-ins are a great option when you want to put it up and have that extra bit of hair.

How long is your hair right now?

One thing you can do - go get yourself some books on how to do some cool things with long hair - complicated braiding, etc.  Beauty of long hair is that you can enjoy many different styles.  A person with a short bob basically only has the one option.

Thanks everyone for all your replies and great suggestions My hair is about 2inches past BSL and i'm hoping to atleast get waist length. Where's the best place to buy hairtoys etc? Also, has anyone got any simple but effective styles? I might try to get a book like Tyranna suggested. Dave, that was an interesting approach you suggested i had never thought of it before but it makes perfect sense. I'm going to be learning the bass guitar so hopefully that'll keep me occupied and distracted for a while

Great advice!! I am in the same spot as buckiefairy - getting totally bored w/ watching and waiting for my hair to grow more!  I guess I need to focus my attention on other things. Well said, Dave
