Well guys, remember me. Beautiful blonde hair and deciding wether to go dark!! Well, I went to the hairdressers on Saturday, all excited about going dark!! I asked for a golden brown as you advised. And also thought of keeping a bit of blonde underneath, just incase. But no, the hairdresser, decided it was best with just the one colour.
So, I went along with that as usual. He pick the colour and we joked saying "as long as it doesn't turn out black!!" Well it did!! I now have black hair. I also have a black forhead and neck due to the hairdresser throwing the colour qaround like an idiot!!
I am so upset, I was looking so forward to a change and going back to my natural colour and now it's ruined!! It's black!!! And my hair isn't in very good condition.
I have never complained in my life, but this time it was needed. I phoned them telling them the colour was not what I asked for, that I had more dye on my face and neck than my head, that they even got dye on my jeans, and worse the trim that I asked for ended up being about 2 inches!!! So not only is my beautiful long blonde hair now black it's short!! At that stupid length below the sholders that is impossible to grow past!!
I'm so hurt. I get it sorted free of charge on Friday morning by a different person. Hopefully they can sort it as i'm going home on Sat and my Mum will freak!! I doubt they'll be able to get it too the colour that I want, but anything will be an improvement from this!!
I really need some support!! How will they be able to lighten it without making it in worse condition?
Nikki :)

First of all I wanted to say that i feel your pain, Ive been in your situation a few times.
Second, what color do you want now?
They can use colorfix and this will not damage it as much as bleaching.
I dont know how light you will be able to get it by doing this.
If you want it lighter again perhaps it was a good thing that they cut
out all the damaged hair? Does your hair feel as if it is in a better
condition?
If so then they can probarbly get it whichever color you want them to..
(Maybe not as blonde as you where, not in one go anyway)
Did the hairdresser use a semi permanent color or a permanent color?
Semi permanent washes out to some extent and goes quite alot lighter with time.
Hope they can fix the mess they created in your hair.

I'm not sure if it was permanent. Some of the colour has been wahing out. It is in better condition than it was and they took quite a bit of it! I originally wanted Golden brown, so if I got that that would be fine!!
I don't want to go blonde again, so just a light to mis golden brown would be nice. God knows how they'll do it though. My ends of my hair are the most damaged!!
So I don't suppose you'll let them chop more ends off then?
I'm sure they'll be able to do something with the
colour....hairdressers are so careless sometimes, you wonder why they
become hairdressers in the first place! It only loses them money!
It's odd how it turned out black, I've heard of it before, but I don't
perosnally know anyone it happened to. I'm naturally light blonde
and the first colour I dye my hair was golden brown too, trust me, it
looks lovely on blonde people :) . I decided to go black but that was a
mistake (bleach time).
Make sure you really condition and look after your hair if its not in good condition - you don't want to make it worse.
If you are blonde, you may have to wear a little darker makeup to go
with dark hair (even if they make it brown when you go back). I
was natural blonde and I always need to draw my eyebrows darker when I
went dark, but doing that makes it look nice.

Nikki, I'm so sorry. You tried to do the right thing by consulting the forums and getting advice from different people. Getting blond hair to go dark never ends well, in my opinion. But listen - that black will most certainly lighten with a few washes, just wait and see. Hair that's been repeatedly lightened is very porous and doesn't hold color too well anyway. So you may very well end up with a lovely shade of golden brown!
Good luck.

Thatnks! I've been using washing up liquid, and it has lighten slightly. I'm getting the colour fixed on Friday, so hopefully the hairdresser can lighten it! With the black lightening up too it might come out quite nice!!
