I did something similar to that a month ago is that bad for wave or good.

if your talking about this then of course its bad for waves, you can kiss your waves goodbye if you get your hair like this

imagine this if u will... u gettin a haircut, u go to the barber. u tell him to take it down a lil, cuz u really want ur waves to be hittin, but u want a special part in ur hair. he starts cuttin and ur gettin all excited cuz u know its gonna be clean. then.....BAM. he turns u around and ur BALDHEADED. <------- theres ur part for u. i know i exaggerated but a part is all the way down to the scalp. at each line, ur exposing scalp and have basically cut urself wavesless at that point.
