My wife has been complaining about an awful "dirty laundry" smell in her hair.  The woman who cuts her hair told her that she had mildew in it - most likely from our neighbors ill-maintained pool.  How can she get rid of this?  Do need to scrub her scalp with a TSP mixture?  HELP!

Have her try a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse. (maybe 1/4 cup vinegar with 2 cups water) It kills certain kinds of bacteria and restores the scalp's acid balance, which will prevent more mildew. The vinegar smell will go away after the hair dries.
