Are you wanting to keep it long enough to put in a ponytail?
If you're looking for just a change but not a chop you could get some bangs. How thick is up to you.

think you've got a great face for it. I especially like the new hairstyle
Ashlee Simpson has - collar-length chop with side-swept bangs.
