Hi Everyone!!! I'm thinking about doing a fall product cleansing. That is I'm going to get rid of products I've been holding onto but never use and replace them with new products. I want to start fresh with a new regimen and products I'll use daily. I have the habit of bumping around products and I want to be alittle more consistent although my hair is doing better than it ever has. Here is what I am going to be keeping:

Shampoo: CON shampoo

Conditioner: Mane n' Tail, AO Honeysuckle Rose, Porosity Control

Oil: Kemi Oil, Wild Growth Hair Oil

That's all I'm keeping and I have 3 drawers full of products I don't consider staples and won't be needing. Here is what I want to add into my collection as permanent staples.

Shampoo: Capilo Honey and Milk Shampo, one good clarifying also

Conditioner: Capilo Honey and Milk Con., Kan Kanechomn Karite Butter  Deep Conditioner, Kan. K. She-Goat Milk Deep Conditioner

Tx and Leave-Ins: Salerm 21, Henna Queen Garlic Tx, Capilo Honey/Milk Rinse, and Nexxus Emergencee

As for Moisturizers, I may use mango butter since it's getting colder, but this is all I want to use. Of course I'll have a set regimen, which I'll list in Grow-Out thread for this month, but I want to stick to these. Many of the dominican products I haven't used yet but I've seen great reviews on so if you see one on here that you like or dislike, please tell me why. But overall, what do you think??

Sounds great to me. I use queen helene garlic shampoo myself. I have used the capillo milk and honey shampoo and conditioner and liked them and i loved the kan kanechom products. i use con the one in the green and white bottle and i just purchased the porosity control- i plan to try it next week.

Carmeldiva, thanks! I was wondering about the queen helene garlic shampoo and how it compared to the Henna Queen brand. Do you still use the Kan Kanechomn products? Which did u like because I went back and forth on the site trying to find out which was better: the She-Goat or Karite Butter COnditioner! I like CON, but a clarifying shampoo will be needed time to time. Porosity Control is great. It leaves my hair really soft. Also, I'll be doing buns alot this winter and was wondering if you had any thoughts on a moisturizer. I was thinking Mango Butter but I'm open to other things.

I  haven't used the Kan Kanechomn products in awhile but i have used other dominican products(really loving the Rivas Silicon Mix shampoo(hydrating) and the hair treatment(conditioner) - i did love them (KK)when i used them i used one that was orange- think the name started with a J and the other was the crystal bath one. I don't use CON  on the regular- once every two to three weeks. Moisturizer for buns- i don't even have one of those yet, i digress- but lots of women use jherri curl juice or you can make your own using glycerin and water or glycerin and liquid aloe vera(that's what i do -cheaper than buying bottles at the store and just as effective).  I hope this helps.

I've heard good things about Kan Kanechomn and Rivas. I forgot all about s-curl for moisture! Thanks for reminding me. Where do you get your liquid aloe vera and glycerin??

Sure, no problem. I got the liquid aloe vera and glycerin at www.camdengrey.com . Make sure that you spell glycerin(without the 'e' on the end).

I've been trying to do the same thing....getting rid of products and replacing them with  new and better things.  I'm trying to control my pj ways.  I'm doing good as far as shampoo's because the only one I use now is con and that's the only one I plan to use for now.

I see you mentioned needing a good clarifying shampoo.  Have you ever tried apple cider vinegar rinses for clarifying?  I do those all the time and they work great for me.  They leave my hair very light and shiney.

blackhoney-most dominican products contain things such as mineral oil, petroleum , vaseline and formaldehyde(pardon my spelling). So if you are trying to stay away from those ingredients they may not be for you. Despite the ingredients they are very moisturizing and great for conditioning. Hope this helps.

I've never tried any of those products but I'm trying to cut down on buying new products and finding my staples in time for 2006; not sure I'll be able to find all the products I need but I've got the bare essentials.

Thank you so much for answering! Although I am trying to avoid those ingredients I have heard so many good things about them; I went ahead and ordered the shampoo and conditioner and the Lacio Lacio.
