I need some advise.  My niece has braids in because she had some damage done to her hair because of a relaxer put in wrong.  She had breakage, especially in the back of her head.  She put in braids so that she can gain some growth back.

I've never had braids, so how should she moisturize her hair and what are the best products for her to use to help her keep her own hair soft and healthy?

I appreciate your answers.  You all are the best!  Thanks.

When I had braids I used Sulfer 8 braid spray and added jojoba oil to it.  I sprayed my scalp and the braids to where my hair ended and I did this twice a day. I also washed mine every other week and I wouldn't leave them in longer than two months.  HTH

I use S-curl No drip spray (diluted) whenever I wear braids, African Royale braid spray is pretty good too. I wash mine once a week and use witch hazel on my scalp to keep it clean and to prevent buildup.

Here's a site that has great info on braid care & hair care in general : http://www.growafrohairlong.com/braidreg.html

Wow this is great info! I atually just put my hair in braids a few weeks ago and it's growing I think I washed it and my new growth started poping up already is this new growth or just my hair lossening up from previously washing it? it's silly but I am really anxious to remove my braids because of it. Talk about impatient
wiqlf personal reassons=)
