how do i get hair like this? and help

i previously had a post about complaining about my weird hair strands and now there are pics posted above. theyre sorta "tape from a casette tape" kind of feeling. you can see how the width of the top strand varies on sizes from root to tip. so how can i fix those hair strands? hopefully a shampoo and conditioner that would do the trick. maybe that 'redken - get relaxed' shampoo would do. sometimes i try to style my hair with garnier fructis wet hair look gel buy it strands of hair ALWAYS seem to stick up and even curl or twist. the bottom strand in the picture seemed to curl up when it fell out because my hair strands arent that bad. same thing when using other gels like dep.

right now i use ganier fructis beach look thing thats like a paste. it probably works the most at "weighing down my hair" which i want. are there any shampoos or conditioners that ACTUALLY weigh down hair because i always see products that are "weightless" and i dont want these flyaways/rebellious hair strands. if i knew what kind of hair i had, it would help me decide which shampoo types to look for.

i know to achieve those hairstyles i need to grow my hair longer but is there a correct way to ensure i get the look? any shampoo/conditioner advice? if my hair strands stuck up in a more uniformed way, i wouldnt be so frustrated. o yea and the two pics of me actually make my hair look better than it is in real life. there are actually a lot more hair strands sticking up.
