Uneven Hairline - What can I do?

Ok... I've been noticing in the past three years or so that my hairline..mainly the right side and the left side (not the middle, so much) seems to be getting a bit higher. Some people have those little "baby" hairs along the hairline that you can brush down to cover whatever causes the appearance of your forehead to look too large when hair is pulled back or whatever. But I have to "create my own" but obviously it doesn't work well.

It's not a mojor problem...it's just a bit frustrating.
Is there something I could use to help grow or thicken the hair on the side that's higher?

Also, when I pulled my hair up in a ponytail...there's a good inch (maybe 1 1/2 inch) gap before the hairline. Is that normal?
