QuoteReplyTopic: Weird spot on my crown Posted: November 15 2005 at 3:41am
OK..I'm going to try and explain this as best as I can...
I have a weird spot on my crown where the hair goes in odd directions and lies flat. I have two spots actually, one on each side of the top of my head, but the one on the left side is FAR worse! When I wear my hair up, it wants to form a part at this spot which just looks silly, so I comb my hair over it (straight back) but then I get this huge lump! I think this is called a "double crown"? Not sure...but it drives me nuts!!!!
Anyone else have this problem? I'm just a bit worried that it's going to get worse as my hair gets longer. Or does it get better when your hair is longer? Maybe I just don't have enough hair weight to make it sit flat?

Meant to reply to this ages ago but never got round to registering!
I have a double crown Rini, sorry to say it doesn't get much better when it grows (think with curlies it is more pronounced than with straight hair). When I was little my mum was told that because of my double crown I could never have long hair (I had a close crop for years because of this). Whilst this is not true it's also not true that long hair will make it go away. sorry

Funny, Rini, I did not change in length this month either (after two months of fast growth). I keep repeating to myself what PurpleBubba said about averages....

Actually, I think I still had the usual growth rate as my roots appeared the same as always, it's just that the underneath layer (the longest one that I measure) didn't grow.
It's left me wondering if I should measure at all or just take pics? Hmmm....

Your pics are a great visual record of growth - I look at them often to remind myself how fast hair length changes. I need to get a good camera and start taking photos of my hair so I can have the same record!
