Since I've been ironing with the Solano iron and not
getting blowouts i noticed that my hair just doesnt
have the body,, its just a little too straight and flat i
used to be able to have that sexy "s" wave Jessica
Simpson style body wave in front and I sooooo miss
that!!! I remember years ago b4 i went thru that major
breakage i would take the hair from the front and top
and pull it atop my head into a small bun and when i
took it down after a few minutes I had that full s wave
in front and it was soooo cute and i just remembered
it today after years of not having it long enough to
look decent in front,, its back!! and everyone seemed
to notice becuz i got so many compliments,, im so
pleased anyway i was wondering if there is any
alternative to this becuz that little bun scares me
since its kinda tight and i dont wanna suffer more
breakage,, anyone have any ideas...?

I do that little bun too.  I don't think it will do any damage since you only have it in for a short period of time.  I usually have mine in for 15 minutes but sometimes I'll sleep in a loose one.  My hair seems okay from it. It does put a nice wave/flip in the hair.  Just be careful with the hair bands you use.  I use the ouchless ones that are seamless.  They are really nice and kinda feel like pantyhose or something.

OMG girl,, YOU too??!! I would have imagined
noone would have done that becuz i always thought i
did weird stuff with myhair,, yeah i guess a bun
shouldnt be too bad so long as it isnt tight,, and that
bun gets it just right,, i LOVE it!! i ought to try sleeping
in it too becuz it tends to fall flat,, man,, ur hair must
be so pretty since its so long,, i sometimes put a
couple of rows of extensions in and then it looks like
long wavy layers,, so cute

Yes girl, I be doing some weird stuff to my hair.  I didn't know anyone else did that either.  Sometimes when I want a straight, straight look I sleep in what I call an "indian" braid.  It's where i put my hair in a ponytail and every inch and a half or two inches I will put a hair band so it ends up being a ponytail with bands going all the way down so I know what you mean about weird, lol.  But it works well for me and gives my hair a rest from wrapping it.

Oh wow,, so that method gets is straight ,, maybe ill
try that,,, im very relieved that i rediscovered the little
bun becuz im finding that idont need heat to look
presentable whereas b4 my hair would be straight
but with little waves and VERY flat so it looked awful
and I needed heat nearly everyday

I've been having the same problem. This is what I've tried: section the part that you want to have a wave, then use a molding paste and lightly twist or loosely braid that section. Put a little black rubber band on the end to keep it from coming a loose. Then when it's set, take it out gently and finger comb it to style. You might need a little hair spray to keep it. You have to experiment with the amount of product because too much will mess up the straight hair.
