i had just purchased shea butter from Avon.com..and it smells exactly like "butter"..it's definitely butter..my boyfriend says he likes it because it basically reminds him of what he'd like for breakfast..a hot toasted bagel and lots of butter..

that didn't exactly sound very romantic..is there anything i can do to alter the smell?

 Is it pure shea butter  pr a lotion?  I add essential oils.  You can melt it ( if it is pure) in the Microwave or on a double boiler and add about 15 E.O. drops for every 1 ounce.  if you dont have any essential oils I have a bunch I collect them, some grocery stores are starting to cary them too.
