Hello.  I hope someone in this forum can help.  My natural hair color is very dark brown, almost black.  For the past year and a half, I've had my hair blonde.  I absolutely love it.  Anyway, here is the problem.......I'm noticing a bunch of things with my hair........It's shorter, and I did NOT get a hair cut in the past 3 months.  It's thinner looking.  It's not styling the way it used to because there is less of it.  I'm kind of freaking out, because I don't know what to do.  I love the blonde, and do not want to go back to dark brown.  Can anyone provide any insight.  I only changed one thing on my end.  My diffuser broke a couple months ago, and I couldn't find a new one.  When my hair came out the same way as it did without the diffuser, I didn't bother to purchase one.  Could that be a factor in all of this?

Thank you in advance for your reply.  Please HELP!!!  I don't know what to do!

I don't think the diffuser would make much difference.  It sounds like your hair is breaking off from chemical damage.  Try to avoid things that damage it - blow dry only on the cool setting, not the hot; be careful when you detangle it to start at the bottom and work your way up gently to avoid yanking hair out with any knots; don't use heat on it at all (too hot showers, heat styling, etc.).

When you get your roots done, do they put chemicals on all of your hair?  If so, this damage will eventually take its toll, and its not neccesarily the fault of the new stylist.  Ask them to just do your roots only when you go in, and avoid doing anything else damaging to the length.  If they ARE only doing the roots, maybe consider gradually going to a darker shade of blonde (so you'd still get to be blonde, but the bleach may need to be on a shorter time and be a little less damaging).
