Glue Problems

Can anyone help me.  I have been putting my mates hair extensions in foor the last couple of years using the fusion method wwith glue sticks and gun.  The last couple of times the glue has gone soft and crumbly very quickly and the extensions are coming out within two or three weeks of them being put in.  The glue looks the same as it does once acetone has been applied and they have been removed but I am desperately trying to find out what causes this.  I am using the same hair and glue that I have always used and never had a problem with.

I would also like to know if anyone has linked hormone changes to extension fall out.  I have noticed with my own hair that my extensions fall out every time I am pregnant or have a change in my hormone levels and this also seems to be true of my friends hair. 

Anyone have any ideas on either of the above or anything I can try to save my mates extensions that are currently falling out?

Hi and thanks for reply.  Her maintenance hasn't changed and is using the same shampoo and conditioner.  The first ones that started coming out she was using a shine spray and I thought it may be that but having replaced them all she hasn't used it and they are still as bad.  The hair itself feels great.

My glue gun is about 8 months old, can that make a difference?

Should I be using larger joins with more glue?  At the moment they are about the size of a grain of rice.

well that was the conclusion I have come to but when speaking to my supplier they won't comit themselves to an answer.  my friends hair that is falling out is just 18 and i am wondering whether natural hormone changes at that age could affect the glue.  She has had them in for two years, replaced religiously every 12 weeks aand maintains them perfectly.  I aam at a loss as to what else could be causing it and what else to try

my guess would be that the manufacturer did something different with the glue sticks...the supplier would have no clue to this or any way of knowing it. A simple ooops in the manufacturing process could effect the longetivity of the glue.

Kalika had a great suggestion, Id try shrinkie's over the bonds.
