QuoteReplyTopic: Celeb. mens hairstyles you like ? Posted: January 16 2006 at 4:43pm
I don't know if I put this in the right section or not but I figured it might get looked at here more then the men's hair section. I was wondering what hot styles you like right now for men. What have you seen that really sticks out ? I'm trying to grow my hair out a little longer now so I can have a mid length look. I'm going to keep it straight but I'm growing it long from the top to about the ear's and keeping length in the back. I want a trendy bangy look or just something that looks cool. What do you suggest ? Thanks for the help!!
Interesting how hair trends develop. Rufus has a cool,
yet classic look that I think would always be in vogue.
Buckley's hair would not have been preferred at anytime
in the 90s, which is when he came to prominence. His
hair sorta reminds me of the better examples of the
somewhat grown out "natural" look of the late 70s and
early 80s. The best case example.
Very long past the shoulders hair CAN look good, but
few can seldom wear this style. Orlando Bloom as
Legolas (for straight) or Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam,
wavy), can WEAR and own it. I observe too many rednecks
and hangover metal heads with long hair and it just
doesn't look good. It's a fine balance; you have to be
pretty in a male way like Eddie or Orlando...
The face that's too wide and squarish or too long and
narrow will look odd in very long curtain drape hair.
The face alternately, can't be too brutish or too
feminine. Orlando pushes the feminine envelope but he
is saved by his perfect, though slender proportions.
The Current hair trend for med length, soft grown out
look?
I think Star Wars and maybe some other films should be
given more credit. I've noticed 1000s of Obi-Wan and
Bruce Wayne clones in the later half of 2005.
Coincidence? Not!
Christian Bale as Batman, wore both a scruffy Jeremiah
Johnson look and a classic hollywood parted mid-length
cut.
Ewan as Obi-Wan; classic (early 1900s British)Edwardian
style with a modern edge
Anakin; 70s sex god look. Long layers of waves, but
well worn. This would be my favorite. It looks cool and
stands out.
Robert Redford's hair (during the 70s, Sundance Kid,
Jeremiah Johnson) would also be a top pick.

My g/f got me to watch The Young and the Restless today because she wanted me to see Thad Luckinbill (J.T. Hellstron's) hair to see if I would want mine like that. It looked pretty nice and so I said sure. She looked around for pics of his hair the way it currently is on the show and couldn't find anything. Does anyone know where I could find some really current pics ?
