Hello all!
I'm seeking the modern-day equivalent of a shampoo from the 40s and 50s
called Lustre-Cream Shampoo with lanolin. I don't think they make
it anymore. Here is a link to an ad for it...

In recent decades, I think lanolin has been gradually removed from shampoos because it is very difficult to remove from hair.
This is going to come across as a bizarre suggestion, but you might want to try pet stores. Lanolin shampoos are very often made for pets because lanolin comes from sheep..... sheep.. dogs... sheepdogs...
I searched for alternatives based on the ingredients Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (main cleanser) and Lanolin, found in your Lustre shampoo. I think Sodium Lauryl Sulfate shampoos are hard to find because they've all been substituted with cleansers beginning with "Ammonium".
