These terrors are very common in ages three to five.

Stand bye - Although it is difficult to watch your child screaming, there's nothing you can do to stop a night terror. Just make sure the child is safe while running around or thrashing about.

Don't mention the next day about the terror they had. Don't let siblings either. If the child knows, they may get upset for being out of control.

If you child continues to have these terrors do this. Wake them up 30 minutes after going to bed. Then let them go back to sleep. That will break up the sleep cycle, and also tends to interrupt the pattern of terrors. Sometimes these occur from giving up daily naps.
