okay guys... found a good solution to my own question from a few weeks ago so i figured i'd post it in case anyone else is interested...

i got it @ sally's ... it's called "STREAKS N TIPS" Temporary Highlight Spray... I got it in "Bordeaux" and it's pretty good... just a little bit of a pain in the ass to get it where you want it... buttt i did try spraying some into a little dixie cup and dipping my ends in... which worked great!

All the spray-ins I've used made my hair stiff, and flaked out easily :-P .  I've also used the little brush-on mascara-like stuff, but it can get pretty gunky.  I think I had the best luck just streaking with a marker :-P .  I have to use a dark one to show up on my hair, and it takes a while to do, but it works pretty well.

More awesome than a manatee!

I hear (but haven't tried) Fudge Paintbox Temporary Spray is good.  Cool colours, I was going to get some of the purple haze but I bought extensions instead.  If you have light hair though it says to put hairspray on your hair first so that it doesn't penetrate the hair, so it must be pretty strong...

i've used several of the spray on colors for random colored streaks for a night out or something... but not really happy with the results of any of them...  just wondering if anyone's found that miracle spray that doesnt goop up and peel off the hair and look like crap??  i dont expect it to be perfect because of course i dont want it penetrating my hair... but is there anything that works good for this???
