I AM NOT A HAIR STYLIST!! AND OF COURSE I WANTED TO DYE MY ROOTS AT HOME TO SAVE MONEY. I HAVE MEDIUM BROWN HAIR TO BEGIN WITH AND I HAVE HAD IT LIGHTEN TO BLONDE. ALMOST A PLATNIUM BLONDE. SO I TRIED TO DYE MY ROOTS LAST NIGHT AND THEY CAME OUT ORANGE!! PLEASE HELP. HOW DO I FIX IT. I AM GOING ON VACATION TOMORROW AND DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO GET PROFESSIONAL HELP. I USED A HIGHLIFT BLONDE CREME, I THINK THE BOX SAID IT WAS 2.05 OUNCES AND THE NUMBER WAS 12.0 ALONG WITH 30 VOL. I THINK IT IS PEROXIDE OR WHAT EVER YOU PUT WITH IT, I USED 4OZ OF THAT. LEFT IT ON FOR 45 MINTUES LIKE THE DIRECTIONS SAID. ANYWAY, IF ANYONE COULD HELP I WOULD BE IN DEBT FOREVER!! I JUST WANT TO ROOTS TO MATCH THE HAIR COLOR!!!.

Well, if your hair is Platnium Blonde then that means you need to bleach those roots to pale yellow.

Go to Sally Beauty, buy Colorfix and remove the highlift dye off the roots...then get some bleach for on scalp use with 20 vol peroxide and bleach until the roots are pale yellow--inside of a banana peel.  Then tone the roots with the "same" color as the ends...which color to use for a toner I am not sure since I cannot see your ends.  Try something temporary, like Born Blonde...If you hair is sort of White Beige Use Silent Snow.  Good luck!

Remember to STRAND TEST prior to doing the entire head for timing and to see if the hair can take the damage, and be careful about overlapping onto the previously dyed areas...I'd advise that you get some help with this fix it project.
