You are going to have to compare brushes when you go to the store because it is also hard for me to find a medium brush; but some companies hard brushes feel like mediums compared to others. (I use a Titan hard brush as a medium)

i use all 3 kid...i use the hard brush for when im in the shower to wash my hair and make it soft....then i use the medium brush to bring the waves out more....then i use the soft brush to make the excess hair lay down and to connect the waves....so i cant say..they all play apart in the waves though..
